AUSTIN, Texas — Amy’s Ice Creams is inviting Austinites and ice cream fans alike to join its 40th anniversary celebration on Sunday, June 8, at Bouldin Acres South Lamar. The inaugural Amy’s Fest will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering a free, dog-friendly event designed to bring the community together while benefiting the local nonprofit Emancipet.
Emancipet focuses on providing affordable veterinary care to pet owners, aligning with Amy’s Ice Creams’ commitment to community connection. “Amy’s was never just about ice cream—it was about connection,” said Jess Banks, Amy’s Ice Creams Giving Director. She described the event as a “love letter to Austin—a thank you for 40 incredible years.”
Highlighting the festival will be the return of Amy’s famous Trick Olympics, where scoopers transform ice cream serving into a performance art full of high-flying scoops and crowd-judged fun. “Our scoopers are performers, athletes, and artists,” Banks said. “For years they’ve turned a simple scoop into something magical—and we’re letting that fly again (literally) for our 40th.”
Founded in 1984 by Amy Simmons, Amy’s Ice Creams has grown from a single Austin location to multiple stores across Austin, Houston, and San Antonio, becoming a beloved name in the latest ice cream franchise scene.
