Washington, D.C.’s beloved Ice Cream Jubilee, known for unique flavors like banana bourbon caramel, cherry blossom cheesecake, and mint chocolate brownie, is preparing to expand its footprint in the metropolitan area.
The chain announced plans to open a new location this summer at 4620 Wisconsin Ave. NW in D.C.’s Tenleytown neighborhood, along with another store in Baltimore’s Harbor Point area. Exact opening dates have not yet been disclosed.
Ice Cream Jubilee recently launched a new shop in Falls Church, Virginia, and already operates in popular neighborhoods including Georgetown, Navy Yard, Reston, Ballston, and College Park, Maryland.
The expansion comes amid a competitive Washington-area retail market marked by low vacancy rates and rising rents. Other ice cream brands like Van Leeuwen, Yala Greek Ice Cream, and The Charmery are also growing in the region, reflecting strong demand for frozen treats.
Ice cream makers contribute significantly to the U.S. economy, with an $11.4 billion impact and support for over 27,000 dairy jobs, according to industry reports.
