A new scoop of nostalgia has landed in Austintown. Totally 80s Ice Ice Cream Shoppe celebrated the grand opening of its second location Monday, bringing neon flair, arcade games, and the latest ice cream creations to Raccoon Road next to Wedgewood Pizza.
Packed with vintage décor, classic candies, retro sodas, and free-to-play 80s arcade games, the shop offers more than just a treat—it delivers a full-on throwback experience.
“There’s a vibe here,” said owner Mike Thrope. “It’s a lot more laid-back. It’s not just about getting them in and out… it’s about connecting with people and creating memories.”
The shop will reopen Thursday and operate daily from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., just in time for summer. Next Monday, the brand will also celebrate the one-year anniversary of its flagship location in Salem, OH, marking a successful first year of bringing fun and flavor to Northeast Ohio.
As the ice cream market continues to grow, Totally 80s Ice Ice Cream Shoppe is gaining attention not only for its dessert offerings but also for its unique concept—a promising model for those exploring ice cream franchise opportunities with a built-in experience factor.
With two locations now scooping up success and a nostalgic twist that resonates with both kids and adults, Totally 80s is setting the stage for what could be a standout franchise in the ever-evolving ice cream industry.
