PENNSYLVANIA — Summer just got a whole lot sweeter in the Keystone State as the 8th annual Scooped: An Ice Cream Trail kicks off, inviting locals and tourists alike to indulge in a delicious way to explore Pennsylvania.
Running from May 29 through September 7, the trail features over 50 participating creameries across the state. The initiative not only celebrates the joy of frozen treats but also highlights the importance of Pennsylvania’s dairy industry and its impact on tourism and agriculture.
“This is really an event about showing folks why Pennsylvania’s a great place for agriculture and a great place to visit,” said Rick Siger, Secretary of the Department of Community & Economic Development. “And really, I don’t think you could argue that everybody needs a good reason to get out and eat some ice cream.”
The interactive trail is powered by a mobile-friendly platform where ice cream lovers can check in at participating shops and earn points through a digital passport. Each shop visit adds 100 points. Checking in at six or more locations earns participants a commemorative stainless-steel tumbler. Those who reach 1,000 points are eligible to win an overnight farm getaway in Lancaster County.
Local favorites like Manning Farm Dairy, Old Mill Creamery, Sprinkled Sweet Bakery & Artisan Creamery, and The Lands at Hillside Farms are among the trail’s must-visit stops.
With its mix of rural charm, small business support, and irresistible scoops, the Ice Cream Trail shines a light on the latest ice cream franchise trends and offers a fun way to support the local economy. For anyone interested in ice cream franchise opportunities, this event offers a flavorful glimpse into the thriving industry.
