Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand has reinforced its status as Asia’s leading ice cream exporter, securing the fourth spot globally. The country’s success in the international ice cream market is attributed to its abundant resources and the advantages offered by free trade agreements.
Chotima Iemsawasdikul, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Negotiations under Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, emphasized the widespread popularity of Thai ice cream, which appeals to all age groups, particularly during the hotter months. She pointed out the steady growth in ice cream exports, showcasing the industry’s ability to adapt to global trade challenges.
Thailand’s position as Asia’s top ice cream exporter is further solidified by its ranking as the fourth-largest exporter worldwide, trailing behind the European Union, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Over the past five years, from 2020 to 2024, Thailand’s ice cream exports have averaged 106 million USD annually, with an impressive annual growth rate of 11%.
