James Rizza & Sons has clinched top honors for their Double Dairy Gold Vanilla Ice Cream at the 2025 National Ice Cream Awards, organized by the Ice Cream Alliance. The Midlands-based competition awarded Rizza’s first place in the fiercely contested ‘Open Ice Cream – Vanilla’ category.
Central to the ice cream’s rich, smooth flavor is Guernsey Dairy’s premium double cream, supplied since 2022. Each year, Guernsey Dairy exports three to four batches of around 500 litres to Rizza’s, providing the key ingredient that gives the winning vanilla ice cream its luxurious texture and depth.
Philip Morrison, Managing Director of James Rizza & Sons, emphasized the importance of quality cream for classic flavors like vanilla. “Guernsey Dairy double cream gives our Gold Double Dairy its incredible smoothness and luxurious taste,” Morrison said. “It’s a valued partnership that has greatly contributed to our success.”
Guernsey Dairy’s Operations Director, Andrew Tabel, praised the collaboration and the recognition it brings to the island’s dairy industry. “This award highlights not only Rizza’s manufacturing excellence but also the high quality of locally produced milk products,” he said. “We are proud that our cream plays a central role in such an outstanding, award-winning ice cream.”
This win underscores the growing reputation of Guernsey Dairy cream in premium ice cream production and highlights exciting ice cream franchise opportunities and the latest trends in ice cream crafting.
For fans of rich, indulgent vanilla ice cream, James Rizza’s award-winning creation is a delicious testament to the power of quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship.
