The Ohio-based grocery chain just unveiled “Summer in a Pint,” a limited-time ice cream collection that turns iconic vacation vibes into scoopable delights—complete with a massive giveaway of 92,000 free pints.
A Kroger spokesperson told Food & Wine that the collection “turns iconic summer getaways into can’t-miss freezer aisle finds.” The four new flavors in this exclusive lineup include:
Italian Style Summer Fizz: Blood orange sherbet with candy clusters
Fireside Nights: Toasted marshmallow ice cream with s’mores bits and an orange swirl
Sandy Shores: Coconut ice cream with sweet and salty pretzel crunch
Poolside Tan Lines: A medley of vanilla bean, chocolate, and coffee ice creams
These flavors are available now at participating Kroger Family of Store locations—but only while supplies last.
A Summer Giveaway That’s Twice as Sweet
In addition to launching new flavors, Kroger is celebrating the sunny season with a giveaway that could make this the latest ice cream franchise-style promotion to watch. The grocer will distribute 1,000 free pints of ice cream per day for all 92 days of summer—totaling a whopping 92,000 free pints.
The promotion officially begins on June 20 at 12 p.m. ET, when customers can head to the dedicated website to claim a digital coupon for a free pint of Kroger Brand ice cream. The coupon is single-use, redeemable between June 20 and July 4, and includes both new and classic flavors.
Last summer’s version of the giveaway received an overwhelming response, and this year Kroger is upping the ante. “We were blown away by customer excitement for our free pint offer,” said a Kroger executive. “This summer we’re making it even sweeter.”
