DEWITT, Mich. — Nothing brings a community together quite like free ice cream — especially when it’s for a good cause.
On Thursday, May 22, from 4 to 7 p.m., Hager Fox and local favorite Scoopy Doo’s Ice Cream Shop are teaming up for the Scoopy Social, offering 300 free scoops at 126 N Bridge St, DeWitt. The event is more than just a sweet spring treat — it’s also a heartfelt fundraiser for the Capital Area Humane Society.
Here’s how it works: every guest who upgrades their free scoop to a waffle cone triggers a $1 donation from Hager Fox, and in a double-scoop of generosity, Scoopy Doo’s will match it — turning every cone into $2 for pets in need.
The funds will help provide food, medical care, and shelter for local animals looking for their forever homes. Organizers say it’s a simple way to bring people together and give back.
“This kind of support means the world to us,” said a representative from the Capital Area Humane Society. “It helps us continue doing what we do for the animals in our care.”
So if you’re in the DeWitt area this Thursday, swing by, grab a scoop, and treat yourself while supporting tails and whiskers across mid-Michigan.
