MOUNDVILLE, Ala. — At just 17 years old, Kenan Breland is living a dream most people spend a lifetime chasing.
Since the age of 8, Breland has envisioned himself behind the wheel of his own ice cream truck. Now, that dream has come to life with the launch of ‘Cool Style’, a bright red truck cruising through Moundville, serving scoops of joy — and a powerful message.
Covered in colorful puzzle pieces — a symbol of autism awareness — the truck is more than just a mobile dessert shop. It’s a celebration of inclusion, resilience, and community. Diagnosed with autism at age 3, Kenan has always embraced his uniqueness. Now, he’s channeling it into entrepreneurship.
“I’m different from anyone else, but I’m a big helper. I help people out a lot,” Kenan told local media. “I love the people, I love the customers. It’s really great. I’m loving the dream we’re having right now. This is our family dream.”
The truck is quickly becoming a local favorite, not just for its cool treats but for the warmth and inspiration that come with them. As ice cream franchise opportunities often focus on profit and scalability, Cool Style stands out by putting purpose front and center — showing how a small-town startup can deliver big impact.
If you’re in the Moundville area this summer, keep an eye out for the Cool Style truck. And if you stop by, know you’re not just buying ice cream — you’re investing in a young man’s dream, his family’s hard work, and a community’s heart.
