Rainbow Cone, a renowned Chicago-based ice cream franchise celebrated for its diverse flavors, is set to expand its footprint by opening a new location in Orlando.
The company recently disclosed its ambitious strategy to venture into Florida during 2024, unveiling plans for multiple new sites across the state. Aside from the forthcoming Orlando establishment, Rainbow Cone aims to establish its presence in West Palm Beach, Tampa Bay, and introduce a fresh Key West outpost scheduled for a March launch.
Expressing enthusiasm for the franchise’s expansion, Lynn Sapp, the third-generation owner of The Original Rainbow Cone, conveyed optimism about the reception in Florida. Sapp highlighted the overwhelming positive responses received from local communities, firmly believing that Key West will warmly embrace the brand, echoing the enthusiastic welcome witnessed in other Florida areas.
Since its inception in 1926, Rainbow Cone has distinguished itself with its famed “Rainbow Cone,” a five-flavor sensation featuring orange sherbet, pistachio, Palmer House (a blend of vanilla, cherries, and walnuts), strawberry, and chocolate flavors expertly layered atop one another.
In addition to its signature offering, the menu boasts a diverse selection of sundaes, cakes, doughnuts, and milkshakes, catering to a broad spectrum of tastes.
While specific details regarding the exact locations and debut dates of the new Florida sites remain undisclosed, Rainbow Cone enthusiasts won’t have to wait too long. Notably, the brand’s inaugural Florida location opened its doors in Bradenton last September, marking a successful initial step in the brand’s expansion beyond its native Chicago roots.
