SEATTLE, WA — Seattle’s iconic ice cream brand, Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream, is opening its 10th location on May 23 at the scenic Waterfront Park, marking a significant milestone for the company known for blending local flavor with community commitment.
The new shop will be housed in the historic Washington Street Boat Landing Pergola, offering customers more than just dessert — it’s ice cream with a view. This expansion follows the brand’s 2023 debut in Edmonds at Main Street Commons and continues its mission to bring innovative and locally sourced flavors to new neighborhoods.
Founded in 2008 by Molly Moon Neitzel, the original Wallingford shop quickly became a Seattle favorite, drawing long lines for unique flavors like honey lavender and lemon curd. Today, the company still sources 90% of its ingredients from the Pacific Northwest and remains deeply involved in community service through initiatives like the Anna Banana Milk Fund, which partners each location with a neighborhood food bank. The newest shop will support Union Gospel Mission, a local nonprofit serving Seattle’s Pioneer Square since 1932.
“Molly Moon’s represents exactly the kind of local, community-rooted business that makes our waterfront shine,” said Joy Shigaki, president and CEO of Friends of Waterfront Park.
Opening festivities on May 23 will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m., with free scoops offered to children 12 and under from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
As Molly Moon’s continues to grow, it adds to the wave of latest ice cream franchise developments redefining the dessert landscape in the Pacific Northwest. With its unique blend of artisanal flavors and social mission, the brand remains a standout in the realm of ice cream franchise opportunities.
