by Alice

LE MARS, Iowa — Ice cream manufacturer Wells Enterprises has voluntarily recalled nearly 18,000 containers of its ice cream and frozen yogurt products after potential contamination with plastic particles was identified. The recall, recently disclosed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), impacts several popular brands, including Blue Bunny, Halo Top, Bomb Pop, and Blue Ribbon.

The affected products, which include 22 flavors ranging from Vanilla and French Vanilla to Rocky Road, Cotton Candy, Peanut Butter ‘N Fudge, and Mocha Almond Fudge, were distributed in 3-gallon containers. The containers carry “Best If Used By” dates between March and October 2026.

The FDA has classified the action as a Class II recall, indicating that exposure to the product may lead to temporary or medically reversible health effects, though the risk of serious consequences remains low. As of now, there have been no reports of illness or injury linked to the recalled items.
