Osoyoos, BC — After four successful years serving the Osoyoos community, Scoopsies, a beloved local ice cream shop, is closing its doors and passing the baton to Moo-Lix Ice Cream Shop, an established Okanagan-based franchise.
In a social media post on Friday, Scoopsies announced the change, revealing that the Kelowna-based Moo-Lix would be taking over operations. Moo-Lix, which currently has two locations in Kelowna — one downtown and one at McCurdy Road — will be retiring the Scoopsies brand and introducing its own franchise offerings to the Osoyoos market.
“After four amazing years serving scoops, smiles, and sweet memories at Scoopsies, the time has come for a new chapter,” the post stated.
The owners of Scoopsies expressed mixed emotions about the decision to sell the business, acknowledging that it wasn’t an easy choice. “Building this business and getting to know so many of you has been one of the greatest joys of our lives,” they wrote in the post. “Whether you stopped by on a hot summer day, brought your family for weekend treats, or supported us through thick and thin — thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
As the transition to Moo-Lix begins, the former owners expressed their hope that the community would extend the same support to the new ice cream shop that they had received over the years.
Scoopsies’ final day of business will be May 7, marking the end of an era for the popular local shop.
