AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) — A local favorite is making the leap from wheels to walls. Cream Over Waffles, also known as COW, is preparing to open its first storefront in Amarillo after three years of operating as a food truck.
Known for its all-natural, homemade ice cream, COW is expanding its offerings to include loaded shakes, custom ice cream cakes, hand-pressed paninis, and a wide range of unique flavor options.
Owner Amanda Gilleland, who brings nearly 20 years of culinary experience to the venture, said her goal has always been to offer Amarillo residents high-quality, allergy-friendly treats made from scratch.
“We make the base, we pasteurize, we freeze, we harden, we temper up just to be able to scoop it for y’all,” Gilleland said. “Then we put all of our knowledge and culinary expertise into it.”
The upcoming location will also feature options for hosting birthday parties, expanding its role in the community beyond just dessert.
Gilleland said the shop is currently awaiting final inspections and is expected to open in approximately two weeks.
Cream Over Waffles will be located at 201-M Westgate Parkway West in Amarillo.
