Conveniently situated at 1273 Locust St., the latest addition to Handel’s portfolio operates daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering locals and visitors alike a delectable escape into the world of artisanal frozen treats.
James Greene, the proud owner of this new venture, expressed his excitement about introducing Handel’s to the East Bay community. “We chose Walnut Creek because we really wanted to give exposure to the entire East Bay,” Greene remarked. “We feel like Walnut Creek is one of those places where everyone comes in and meets up. Build a brand that way.”
Featuring an extensive menu, Handel’s Walnut Creek showcases over 45 flavors, enticing patrons with offerings such as “Monkey Business,” “Graham Central Station,” “Midnight Madness,” and “Pink Champagne” among others. Greene himself revealed his current top three picks: Monkey Business, Cherry Magnolia, and Pink Champagne.
Prior to its Walnut Creek debut, the nearest Handel’s outlet to the Bay Area was located in Elk Grove. Originating in 1945 under the stewardship of Alice Handel in Youngstown, Ohio, the brand has since expanded its footprint to encompass 14 states nationwide.
