Southern California’s premier ice cream festival, the Scoop Ice Cream Festival, is making its much-anticipated return to North Park this Sunday. The event will showcase over 30 ice cream and gelato vendors from across San Diego County, each presenting unique and inventive flavors.
Organized by the nonprofit Scoop San Diego, the festival supports underserved communities through fundraising efforts. This year, the event spotlights ProduceGood, a local nonprofit focused on reducing food waste. In partnership with ProduceGood, some vendors will feature special ice cream, gelato, and paleta flavors made using recovered produce, available exclusively at this year’s festival.
Notable participating brands include Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, Handel’s San Diego, and Little Fox Cups & Cones, among others, bringing a diverse range of delicious options for attendees to sample.
Adding excitement to the festival is a new live competition to crown Scoop San Diego’s Best Flavor. The judging panel features celebrity chefs Claudia Sandoval, MasterChef Season 6 winner; Sam the Cooking Guy, an Emmy-winning food personality; and Zuliya “Zuzu” Khawaja, 2020 Top Chef Amateurs champion.
The Scoop Ice Cream Festival will be held near 30th Street and North Park Way from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are priced at $45 for general admission, which includes 10 two-ounce samples — limited to one per vendor.
For ice cream enthusiasts and those interested in exploring the latest trends in ice cream and yogurt franchises, the festival offers a perfect blend of flavor innovation and community impact.
