CINCINNATI — May 8, 2025 — United Dairy Farmers (UDF) is celebrating a major milestone this week with a sweet offer for its customers. In honor of its 85th anniversary, the Cincinnati-based convenience store and dairy chain is offering single-dip ice cream cones for just 85 cents — a one-day-only promotion available Thursday, May 8.
Founded on the same date in 1940, UDF began as a single storefront selling fresh milk. The company was launched by Carl Lindner Sr., who employed his three sons to help build the business from the ground up. After constructing the shelves and cabinets himself, Lindner sourced unprocessed milk from farmers in Milford and Goshen, allowing him to sell dairy at a lower cost than home delivery services at the time.
Now, 85 years later, UDF has grown into a regional staple, offering not only milk and ice cream but also milkshakes, gas, and convenience items. In addition to the 85-cent cone deal, waffle cones will be available for 99 cents, and chocolate-dipped waffle cones will be priced at $2.49.
The anniversary promotion is a nod to the company’s dairy roots and a thank-you to the customers who have supported UDF for more than eight decades.
